Web Analysis

The following analysis is based on the Japanese well known J-pop group EXILE with their last years concert which took place nationwide in Japan by the name of "EXILE TRIBE LIVE TOUR 2012 ~TOWER OF WISH~". The concert's web page reflects use of colour, advertisement and links to other areas of the website.
When the webpage is loaded, first there will be a loading screen which won’t take long, after that, the audio effects starts rolling in, then the viewers will see the introduction of the webpage done on a animated transaction , this will give the viewer a good first impression on the sound and visual effects on the website.

Use of colour

The main page use a basic white colour for the background, and basic black colour on the broader to indicate links to other areas and advertisement. The colours used with the links on the broader is a rainbow-ish colour with pretty much every colour.

On the front page, various colours were used in the background, the background is actually a photo taken in one of the venues of the nation-wide concert. I think this is trying to represent what the venue is actually look like, as seen in the concert name, the venue is set up as a circle, and in the centre of the circle there's a tower, and that tower is called "The Tower of Wish".
The main purpose of the use of colours is that the J-pop group EXILE trying to show Love, Dream and Happiness by the method of entertainment, so they used joyful colours such as pink, red sky blue and other soft colours on the concert website. According to a blog post written by Christian Vasile (2012) "Colors can stimulate and excite people, increase their appetite, make them feel warm or make them feel tranquil." The meaning of this could state that the web designers of this webpage is trying to give the viewers a warm and welcoming feeling when viewing the website.

About the fonts of EXILE TRIBE, the web designer used rainbow colours to indicate that EXILE TRIBE is a joyful and happy group of young Japanese individuals who are full of energy and passion. According to an article by Annarita Tranfici (2013) on Sitepoint "Typography is one of the most important aspects of responsive web design, and optimizing your fonts for mobile devices is an absolute necessity if you want your content to be palatable across all screen sizes. " The web designers actually did a pretty good job related to typography on this website, every font and ebery detail is easy to read, clear to see, and that could make this website very user friendly towards the general viewers. Musical instruments are located on both side of the EXILE TRIBE symbol, this may represents the method of entertainment of showing Love, Dream and Happiness, musical instruments that is used by everybody nowadays to represent entertainment to the audience and other people. The instrument is coloured in gold because most trumpets and saxophones are golden and it has a rich and colourful feeling that will be given to whoever is looking at it.

There’s only a few advertisements that are on this webpage, which is a link says "BUY 購入はこちら" that will lead you to a online shop where you can purchase the DVD and Blu-ray discs for the recordings of the entire concert which is published by EXILE’s own publishing company you can purchase the DVD item on major online stores such as Amazon and other well known stores around Japan, which of course it's only available in Japan.  The other link that says "EXILE TRIBE サーキット"which means "Exile Tribe Circuit "will lead you to another nline store that will allow you to purchase EXILE’s other merchandises apart from the concert DVDs , for example t-shirts, key chains and other entertainment related merchandises. EXILE’s company is not like other companies that are making money through trading, they do business by entertaining their fans throughout Japan and some parts of the world, so they did not make a big effort on trying so hard to sell their merchandises.

Links to other areas

The links are on the left hand side of the main page, is shows in English “EXILE TRIBE, MOVIE, PHOTO GALLERY, LIVE DVD & BLU-RAY INFO” the tall colourful fonts. First of all the EXILE TRIBE bottom will lead you into the description on EXILE TRIBE, on how they form together, their spirit on entertaining their fans. The MOVIE tab will take you to a YouTube channel that will allow you to view some of the videos taken in the concert. There’s a interesting feature in the PHOTO GALLERY section, it’s when the view click into a single image, it creates a slide show on the whole entire gallery so views don’t get bored when viewing the photos. DVD & BLU-RAY INFO will show you a few different versions of the concert DVDs you can purchase online. On the bottom left of the site you will find links that will let you to share this website with others through social networking sites like Twitter and facebook. Compare to EXILE’s main website, this tour website is just gives the viewers a basic knowledge on the concert tour that the J-pop group held in Japan nationwide in 2012, it does not give any other information, if the viewer does not know who EXILE is, then the EXILE main website is the place to go to find out more about the famous j-pop group, it can be who they are, what they do, and any other information about EXILE.

In conclusion, the web designers and developers done a great job on this website, everything is user-friendly and clearly visible. The use of colours are just a wonderful piece of work that gives viewers a very good and relax feeling when viewing the page. Just like Jennifer Kyrnin (2012) wrote on About.com, the article said: "You need to explore the space and layout, handle fonts and colors, and put it all together in a format that puts your message across." And eventually the web designers done and very excellent job on this tour website.
